#4 reason to attend A Luminous New Year's Eve

The #4 reason to attend A Luminous New Year's Eve? A choral gem by a recognizable name in contemporary choral repertoire.

Federico Garcia Lorca(1898-1936)

Federico Garcia Lorca
(1898-1936)

Luminous Voices has sung a number of Eric Whitacre's works, including his Alleluia (performed a year ago) and When David Heard (performed in 2012) We are excited to offer With a Lily in Your Hand, which is part of Whitacre's Three Flower Songs collection. With a Lily in Your Hand is a beautiful setting of poetry by the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca (1898-1936).

Here's a recording of With a Lily in Your Hand from 2011 by our friends and colleagues of Il Sono Men's Vocal Ensemble, which features a number of future Luminaries -- see how many you can pick out!
